These sportsmen have a great deal to teach us about life and the significance of sports in our culture. We can be our best selves and test our limitations through sports.

A Tennis Pro on the Rise

Mustafa Ghouse was introduced to tennis at a young age after being born on August 19, 1980, into a tennis-playing household. His accomplishments on the ATP Tours included a bronze medal in the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, and he also won several other medals. He competed for India in the Davis Cup from 1996 to 2008.

As the CEO, Ghouse is in charge of the JSW SEP Programme, which was started in 2012 to support and develop Indian Olympic athletes by providing them with access to the best facilities for their specific sports.

In addition, he works closely with SAI, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, and national sports federations to support Indian athletes as they achieve the next major success in international competitions.

Nikita Luther is a professional poker player based out of Delhi, often referred to as the “Superwoman” of Indian poker. She won a gold bracelet in June 2018 at The World Series of Poker (WSOP), was anointed the “Olympic Gold Medal” of poker, and won the $1,000 NLH Tag Team Event in Las Vegas. She is also the top-ranked Indian woman according to the Global Poker Index for 2020 and represents Spartan Poker, the best poker site in India. With more than ten years of experience, Nikita Luther is a true “Pro” in the poker community.

Nikita, born into a military family, began playing poker for the first time out of curiosity on an American poker website called Zynga and eventually got the chance to play for real money at a friend’s birthday in 2015.

Nikita began playing poker full-time after understanding her love for the game and the exciting new worlds it opened up for her. She practised and improved her game daily before finally taking home the prize at The World Series of Poker (WSOP) in June 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nikita broke the glass ceiling and demonstrated to the entire world that women could no longer be marginalised and subjugated due to systemic gender-based discrimination.
